How to make a claim

We know making a claim can feel daunting, so we’ve simplified the process into three easy steps. Follow these steps to get started.

Step 1: Download the claim form

Find the claim form that matches your situation below. Whether it’s a medical emergency, trip cancellation, or lost baggage, we’ve got you covered.

Step 2: Complete the form

Fill out the form with accurate details. The more information you provide, the faster we can process your claim. Don’t forget to gather any required supporting documents, such as:

  • Receipts for medical expenses, accommodations, or other costs.
  • Police reports for lost or stolen items.
  • Airline confirmations for delays or cancellations.

Check the form for a detailed list of what’s needed.

Step 3: Submit your claim

Once the form is complete and your documents are ready, send everything to us via email at claims@riseandshield.com.

  • Use your policy number and claim type in the subject line (e.g., "Policy #RST_SA11683  - Trip Cancellation Claim").
  • Double-check that you’ve attached all necessary files.

Medical Claims

For claims related to medical treatments, hospitalisation, or emergency services during your trip.

Remember to include the following:

  • Original medical bills and receipts.
  • Medical reports detailing diagnosis and treatment.

Baggage Claims

Covers delayed baggage, lost or stolen items, or damage to your belongings.

We'll also require the following:

  • A police report filed within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Receipts or proof of ownership for the lost or damaged items.

Loss of Passport

For expenses incurred due to the loss or theft of your passport.

Money Claims

For reimbursement of stolen or lost money while travelling.

Cancellation Claims

For trip cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or emergencies.

Also include the following:

  • Proof of payment for the trip (e.g., invoices, receipts).
  • Documentation of the reason for cancellation (e.g., medical certificate, employer letter, or other relevant proof).

Curtailment Claims

For interruptions or cutting your trip short due to valid reasons covered by your policy.

Travel Delay Claims

For claims related to delayed flights or other forms of transport causing disruption to your schedule.

You should also include the following:

  • Confirmation from the airline, transport provider, or relevant authority detailing the delay.
  • Receipts for additional expenses incurred as a result of the delay (e.g., meals, accommodations).
